Dear Sherwood Soccer Families

Thanks again for your support and volunteering as a coach for Sherwood Youth Soccer.  This program does not exist without your passion and dedication for the youth in our community.  Follow the link below to view the coaches' meeting recap. You will gain valuable information necessary for your success as we kick off the Spring Season.

SPRING SEASON READINESS - PARENTS

Uniforms:
All Players (Kindergarten - High School) will receive a game t-shirt with their registration.
All players will need shin guards.
Players may wear indoor soccer shoes, tennis shoes or cleats
Cleats (non-metal) are acceptable for both indoor and outdoor.

Sherwood Field House = 15543 SW Willamette St, Sherwood, OR 97140
Archer Glen Elementary School = 16155 SW Sunset Blvd, Sherwood, OR 97140
Middleton Elementary School = 23505 SW Old Highway 99 West, Sherwood, OR 97140

Timeframe:
Saturday, April 8 - Saturday, June 3
NO GAMES - MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND
There are no practices during the week - only games on the weekend.

COACHING REQUIREMENTS

ALL ACTIVES SOCCER COACHES must abide by these rules

OYSA YEARLY REQUIREMENTS (What our LAWYERS make us say...)
1) Concussion certificates
2) Background checks 
3) Coaching agreement
4) SafeSport FAQ's
5) SafeSport Training 
6) Equipment will be available to coaches

If you are brand new user to the Learning Center who created their profile from 12/7 until 12/12, you will not be able to complete SafeSport training due to the data processing jobs outlined above. Beginning the week of 12/13 you'll be able to log into the Learning Center and complete your training.

RULES & TEAM SIZES

KG/1st Grade Rules and Team Sizes

  • Team Size: 3v3
  • No goalies
  • 50 minute running clock
  • 5 minute warmup; 2 x 20 minute halves; 5 minute halftime
  • Coaches referee the game

2nd Grade Rules and Team Sizes

  • Team Size: 4v4
  • No goalies
  • 50 minute running clock
  • 5 minute warmup; 2 x 20 minute halves; 5 minute halftime
  • Coaches referee the game

3rd Grade through 6th Grade Rules and Team Sizes

  • Team Size: 7 v 7 (6 field players)
  • Goalies
  • 50 minute running clock
  • 5 minute warmup; 2 x 20 minute halves; 5 minute halftime
  • Referees keep track of time

7th Grade through High Schoole Rules and Team Sizes

  • Team Size: 6 v 6 (5 field players)
  • Goalies
  • 50 minute running clock
  • 5 minute warmup; 2 x 20 minute halves; 5 minute halftime
  • Referees keep track of time
